Did You Receive A Data Breach Notice from Netgain?

Netgain is a large provider of cloud-enabled IT solutions and managed services to various types of business entities, including healthcare providers and accounting companies.

WHAT HAPPENED?

It is alleged that in late September 2020, as a result of Netgain’s inadequate data security and failure to comply with federal and state data privacy standards, an unauthorized third party gained access to Netgain’s system and exfiltrated the files and records of various Netgain customers.[1]

WHAT IS INVOLVED IN THE NETGAIN BREACH?

It has been alleged that the sensitive health and personal data of hundreds of thousands of individuals was exposed in the breach. Such data allegedly includes names, account numbers, Social Security Numbers, driver’s license numbers, bank account numbers, dates of birth, medical record numbers, health insurance policy and identification numbers, clinical notes, referral requests, laboratory reports, decision not to vaccinate forms, immunization information, medical disclosure logs, and other medical or health related information.[2]
