(“Healthpointe”), potentially including sensitive personal information and confidential personal health information, including Social Security numbers.
On August 30, 2021, Healthpointe reported that it experienced a data security incident on July 7, 2021 whereby “an unauthorized actor gained access to Healthpointe’s systems and removed certain files and folders.” After roughly two week, on July 21, 2021, Healthpointe completed its review and determined that patients’ sensitive information was included in the impacted files.
WHAT INFORMATION WAS EXPOSED IN THE DATA BREACH?
On its website, Healthpointe posted a notice about the data breach. Notably, Healthpointe noted on its website that the data breach included the following information,
- Clinical information, such as diagnosis, lab results, medications, or treatment information;
- Demographic information; and,
- Medical claim information.
Additionally, Healthpointe reported to the California Office of the Attorney General that the following information was included in the data breach,
- Address; and,
- Social Security Number.
