CALIFORNIA PIZZA KITCHEN DATA BREACH CLASS ACTION INVESTIGATION

Markovits, Stock & DeMarco, LLC is investigating claims on behalf of victims of a data breach involving data entrusted to California Pizza Kitchen by its employees including their social security numbers.[1] California Pizza Kitchen is located 575 Anton Blvd. Suite 100, Costa Mesa, CA 92626.

 

WHAT HAPPENED?

According to the data breach notice letter California Pizza Kitchen sent to the Maine Attorney General’s office, “[o]n or about September 15, 2021, CPK [California Pizza Kitchen] discovered suspicious activity in its computing environment.” Afterward, California Pizza Kitchen conducted an investigation and “confirmed that certain files on CPK’s systems could have been accessed without authorization.”[2]  These files included California Pizza Kitchen’s current and former employees’ social security numbers.[3]

It its reporting to the Main Attorney General, California Pizza Kitchen indicated that approximately 103,767 individuals’ social security numbers were compromised in the data breach.

 

WHAT INFORMATION WAS EXPOSED IN THE DATA BREACH?

California Pizza Kitchen stated that the following information was included in the data breach,

  • Name,
  • Social Security Number.
