Markovits, Stock & DeMarco, a law firm experienced in data breach cases, is investigating claims on behalf of victims of a data breach involving data entrusted to Goldwater Bank, N.A., potentially including the following personal information: “names, addresses, telephone numbers, social security numbers, account numbers, and tax identification numbers.” Goldwater Bank is based in Phoenix, Arizona and has locations in many other states.
Despite being the target of a ransomware attack on May 21, 2021, Goldwater Bank waited until October 2021 to notify affected victims in several states. Goldwater Bank reported that its “IT vendor received alerts of unusual network activity….” Furthermore, Goldwater Bank noted that there was infiltration of victims’ data and that it was eventually able to “prevent further infiltration.” This infiltration occurred despite Goldwater Bank representing publicly that it “restrict[s] access to your personal information to only those employees who need to know.”
