In information Central Indiana Orthopedics reported to the Maine Attorney General, Central Indiana Orthopedics stated that it detected unusual activity on its network on October 16, 2021.[1] Through investigation into the cybersecurity incident, Central Indiana Orthopedics found evidence that its files were accessed by an unauthorized actor.  Despite knowing about the data breach since October 16, 2021, Central Indiana Orthopedics waited many months, until March 7, 2022, to inform individuals whose information was compromised in the data breach.

HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IMPACTED BY THE DATA BREACH?

Approximately, 83,705 individuals had their personal information compromised in the Central Indiana Orthopedics data breach.

WHAT INFORMATION WAS EXPOSED IN THE DATA BREACH?

Orthopedic Associates of Hawaii has disclosed the following information was included in the data breach:

  • Names,
  • Addresses,
  • Social Security numbers, and,
  • Health information.
