On March 5, 2022, Allwell Behavioral Health Services discovered a data security incident. [1] Allwell Behavioral Health Services’ investigation determined that on or about March 2, 2022, an unauthorized party gained access to the computer system used to store quality assurance information related to the treatment of patients.[2]

HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IMPACTED BY THE DATA BREACH?

Allwell Behavioral Health Services did not notify victims of the breach until May 23, 2022.[3]  Allwell Behavioral Health Services stated it hasn’t determined the full scope of the compromise yet, but admitted it was likely the unauthored party was able obtain files containing patient information.[4]

WHAT INFORMATION WAS EXPOSED IN THE DATA BREACH?

Allwell Behavioral Health Services has disclosed the following information was included in the data breach:

  • full names,
  • dates of birth,
  • Social Security numbers,
  • phone numbers,
  • treatment activity,
  • treatment providers,
  • treatment dates,
  • treatment locations, and
  • payer information.[5]
