WHAT HAPPENED?
Knox College detected a cyberattack on its computer systems on November 24, 2022.[1] The forensic investigation determined on December 7, 2022, that the files that were exposed contained sensitive private information.[2]
Knox College has disclosed the breach involves confidential and personal information, including:
- full names,
- addresses,
- dates of birth,
- Social Security numbers,
- driver’s license numbers, and
- passport numbers.[3]
HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IMPACTED BY THE DATA BREACH?
Knox College did not report the data breach to the authorities and the affected parties until January 3, 2023.[4] In total, the data of at least 63,100 individuals was compromised in the breach.[5]
