Speedway forced a reset of all passwords on April 20 for affected accounts but disclosed that it believes some personal information to have been compromised in this data security incident.[2]
WHAT HAPPENED?
Speedway confirmed that between April 11 and April 17, 2023, unauthorized third parties were able to access a number of Speedway Speedy Rewards accounts and access the sensitive personal information contained within.[3]
WHAT INFORMATION WAS EXPOSED IN THE DATA BREACH?
Unauthorized third-parties were purportedly able to access the following information from various Speedy Rewards accounts:
- Full names;
- Telephone numbers;
- Physical addresses;
- Dates of birth; and
- Email addresses.[4]
