WHAT HAPPENED?
Hub International detected a cyberattack on its computer systems and network on January 17, 2023.[1] Hub International has disclosed the breach went on over the course of two months, and involves confidential and personal information, including:
- full names,
- Social Security numbers,
- driver’s license numbers, and
- financial account information.[2]
HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IMPACTED BY THE DATA BREACH?
Hub International did not report the data breach to the authorities and the affected parties for eight months until early August 2023.[3] In total, the data of 479,261 individuals was compromised in the breach.[4]
