WHAT HAPPENED?

On January 11, 2024, CoinFlip disclosed an unauthorized access to its network and internal computer systems. An internal investigation has uncovered that unauthorized third parties were able to access and acquire information stored on CoinFlip’s server.[1] CoinFlip recently began notifying individuals and states’ Attorneys General of the Data Breach, estimating that the private sensitive information of roughly 3,000 individuals was impacted in the breach.[2]

WHAT INFORMATION WAS EXPOSED IN THE DATA BREACH?

CoinFlip has disclosed the following information was included in the data breach:

  • Full names;
  • Addresses;
  • Drivers’ license numbers;
  • Government issued ID numbers; and
  • Social Security numbers.[3]
