MNGI DIGESTIVE HEALTH DATA BREACH CLASS ACTION INVESTIGATION

WHAT HAPPENED?

On August 25, 2023, MNGI Digestive Health detected a cyberattack on its computer systems and network that occurred on August 20, 2023.[1] MNGI Digestive Health has now disclosed the breach involves the confidential and personal information on its systems, including but not limited to:

  • full names,
  • dates of birth,
  • Social Security numbers,
  • driver’s license numbers,
  • state identification numbers,
  • passport numbers,
  • financial account information,
  • payment card information,
  • medical and biometric information,
  • patient account numbers,
  • health insurance information, and
  • usernames and passwords.[2]

 

HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IMPACTED BY THE DATA BREACH?

MNGI Digestive Health did not report the data breach to the authorities and many of the affected parties for months following the breach – not until July 15, 2024.[3] In total, the data of at least 765,937 individuals was compromised in the breach.[4]
