Markovits, Stock & DeMarco is pleased to welcome attorney Jennifer J. Morales. Morales practices in the areas of complex commercial litigation and settlement administration. She has significant experience in the estimation, litigation, and liquidation of mass tort claims, the creation of qualified settlement funds, and the counseling of trustees of mass tort settlement trusts on all aspects of trust administration, including compliance with distribution procedures in the evaluation and payment of claims.
Morales earned her J.D. from New York University School of Law in 2002, and her A.B., magna cum laude, from Harvard University in 1999. She is admitted to practice law in Ohio and the District of Columbia.
Markovits, Stock & DeMarco, founded in September 2012, is a boutique litigation law firm. The firm quickly established a national reputation as Co-Lead Counsel in In re Fannie Mae Securities Litigation, Case No. 1:04-cv-1639, while representing Ohio public pension funds as Lead Plaintiffs in Section 10b-5 class action litigation resulting in a $153 million settlement. Markovits, Stock & DeMarco also represented a local ink manufacturer, Collins Inkjet, against Eastman Kodak and received a preliminary injunction from the Southern District of Ohio finding that Collins established a substantial likelihood of success on the merits of the case that Eastman Kodak was violating federal antitrust law. Recently, Markovits, Stock & DeMarco and its co-counsel received the court’s preliminary approval of an $80.875 million settlement while representing a class of electric ratepayer plaintiffs against Duke Energy International based upon claims that Duke violated state and federal antitrust and RICO laws.
