Reprosource Fertility Diagnostics, Inc. Data Breach Class Action Investigation

According to information recently submitted to the Maine Attorney General’s Office, on August 8, 2021, hackers accessed the ReproSource Fertility Diagnostics, Inc.  network.[1] ReproSource Fertility Diagnostics, Inc. did not become aware of the attack until two days later.

HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IMPACTED BY THE DATA BREACH?

ReproSource Fertility Diagnostics, Inc. did not begin notifying victims of the breach until October 8, 2021.[2] In total, the data of approximately 350,000 individuals was compromised in the breach.[3] The letters to victims do not explain why ReproSource Fertility Diagnostics, Inc. waited approximately two months after learning of the breach to start notifying victims.[4]

WHAT INFORMATION WAS EXPOSED IN THE DATA BREACH?

ReproSource Fertility Diagnostics, Inc. has disclosed the following information was included in the data breach:

  • names,
  • Social Security numbers,
  • dates of birth,
  • addresses,
  • telephone numbers,
  • email addresses,
  • medical/treatment information,
  • health billing and insurance information, and
  • other information provided by treating physicians.[5]
