On Behalf of | Mar 10, 2022 | Class Action, Firm News

Markovits, Stock & DeMarco, a law firm experienced in data breach cases, is investigating claims on behalf of victims of a data breach involving data entrusted to PracticeMax, a company headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona that provides business solution services to healthcare providers throughout the country. If you received a notice of data breach letter from PracticeMax regarding the data breach, please contact our office as soon as possible to discuss your potential legal rights and remedies.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On April 17, 2021, unauthorized individuals gained access to PracticeMax’s network, which stored sensitive patient information.[1] Despite becoming aware of technical issues with its network on May 1, 2021, the unauthorized individuals were able to maintain access to the network until May 5, 2021.[2] Inexplicably, it appears PracticeMax did not inform law enforcement about the data breach until October 19, 2021.[3] It also waited until March 4, 2022 to begin the process of notifying all victims.[4]
