WHAT HAPPENED?

On March 25, 2022, Gibson Overseas, Inc. identified its network and systems had been compromised through a ransomware attack.[1] In its investigation that concluded on June 20, 2022, Gibson Overseas, Inc. found that the unauthorized actor exfiltrated information from Gibson Overseas, Inc.’s systems, including information regarding consumers.[2]

Gibson Overseas, Inc. did not notify victims of the breach until August 3, 2022.[3]  Gibson Overseas, Inc. admitted it hasn’t determined the full scope of the compromise yet, but that it decided to inform all individuals whose information was likely impacted.[4]

WHAT INFORMATION WAS EXPOSED IN THE DATA BREACH?

Gibson Overseas, Inc. has disclosed the following information was included in the data breach:

  • Full names, and
  • Social Security numbers.[5]
