WHAT HAPPENED?
On August 18, 2022, Napa Valley College recently detected a cyberattack on its computer systems in June 2022.[1] The investigation that followed determined that an unauthorized actor had access to certain Napa Valley College systems and obtained information stored on Napa Valley College’s systems.[2] Napa Valley College admitted the breach involves confidential and personal information, including Social Security numbers.[3]
HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IMPACTED BY THE DATA BREACH?
Napa Valley College did not report the data breach to the authorities and the affected parties until August 25, 2022.[4] In total, the data of 9,341 individuals was compromised in the breach.[5]
