WHAT HAPPENED?
On January 5, 2022, Service by Medallion, Inc. became aware of suspicious activity relating to an employee’s email account. [1] Service by Medallion, Inc.’s investigation that followed determined an unauthorized actor gained access to certain employee email accounts between August 21, 2021, and January 16, 2022. [2] However, Service by Medallion, Inc. waited over six months and did not notify impacted individuals until August 16, 2022. [3] The unauthorized actor had access to the employee email accounts for nearly a year before Service by Medallion, Inc. disclosed the breach.
WHAT INFORMATION WAS EXPOSED IN THE DATA BREACH?
Service by Medallion, Inc. has disclosed the following information was included in the data breach:
- full names,
- Social Security numbers.[4]
