On October 24, 2021, Valent U.S.A. discovered certain employees were prevented from accessing certain systems and servers. Valent U.S.A.’s investigation that followed determined a cyber-attack occurred and the unauthorized actor encrypted some company servers. Valent U.S.A.’s investigation also uncovered that the cyber-attack impacted private personal information.
Valent U.S.A. has no disclosed how long the cyber-attack occurred and when its investigation concluded. However, Valent U.S.A. did not notify impacted individuals until August 11, 2022, although it was aware of the incident in October 2021.

Valent U.S.A. has disclosed the following information was included in the data breach:
- Full names,
- Social Security numbers,
- Dates of birth,
- Driver’s license number,
- Passport number,
- Financial account information, and
- Medical information.
