WHAT HAPPENED?
On October 24, 2021, Valent U.S.A. discovered certain employees were prevented from accessing certain systems and servers.[1] Valent U.S.A.’s investigation that followed determined a cyber-attack occurred and the unauthorized actor encrypted some company servers.[2] Valent U.S.A.’s investigation also uncovered that the cyber-attack impacted private personal information.[3]
Valent U.S.A. has no disclosed how long the cyber-attack occurred and when its investigation concluded. However, Valent U.S.A. did not notify impacted individuals until August 11, 2022, although it was aware of the incident in October 2021.[4]
WHAT INFORMATION WAS EXPOSED IN THE DATA BREACH?
Valent U.S.A. has disclosed the following information was included in the data breach:
- Full names,
- Social Security numbers,
- Dates of birth,
- Driver’s license number,
- Passport number,
- Financial account information, and
- Medical information.[5]
