WHAT HAPPENED?

Country Doctor Community Health Clinic detected a cyberattack on its computer systems on January 6, 2022.[1] The investigation that followed determined that an unauthorized actor had access to certain Country Doctor Community Health Clinic systems and obtained information stored on Country Doctor Community Health Clinic’s systems.[2] Country Doctor Community Health Clinic admitted the breach involves confidential and personal information.[3] Country Doctor Community Health Clinic has disclosed names and social security numbers were included in the breach.[4]

HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IMPACTED BY THE DATA BREACH?

Country Doctor Community Health Clinic did not report the data breach to the authorities and the affected parties until October 19, 2022.[5] In total, the data of 22,727 individuals was compromised in the breach.[6] The breach notification letters to victims do not explain why Country Doctor Community Health Clinic waited over ten months after learning of the breach to start notifying victims.[7]
