WHAT HAPPENED?
Ethos Group, Inc. detected a cyberattack on its computer systems on August 1, 2022.[1] The investigation that followed determined that an unauthorized actor had access to certain Ethos Group, Inc. systems and obtained consumer information for two full days, beginning on July 30, 2022.[2]
Ethos Group, Inc. admitted the breach involves confidential and personal information.[3] Ethos Group, Inc. has disclosed names and at least driver’s license numbers were included in the breach, but it is suspected that other consumer information was also stolen.[4]
HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IMPACTED BY THE DATA BREACH?
Ethos Group, Inc. did not report the data breach to the authorities and the affected parties until November 2, 2022.[5] In total, the data of 822,723 individuals was compromised in the breach.[6]
