WHAT HAPPENED?

Receivables Performance Management detected a cyberattack on its computer systems and servers on May 12, 2021.[1] The investigation that followed determined that an unauthorized actor had access to certain Receivables Performance Management systems and obtained consumer information for over a month, beginning on April 8, 2021, and continuing until May 12, 2021.[2]

Receivables Performance Management admitted the breach involves confidential and personal information.[3] Receivables Performance Management has disclosed names and at least Social Security numbers were included in the breach, but it is suspected that other consumer information was also stolen.[4]

 

HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IMPACTED BY THE DATA BREACH?

Receivables Performance Management did not report the data breach to the authorities and the affected parties for over a year and a half, notifying impacted individuals for the first time on November 21, 2022.[5] In total, the data of 3,766,573 individuals was compromised in the breach.[6]
