Even though Monument’s website assures that any data submitted with them is completely confidential, secure, and HIPAA compliant, it appears that this information, along with the necessary user identification information, has been sent to advertising platforms.

What Happened?

On March 28, 2023, Monument, Inc. reported that it suffered a data breach affecting an unknown number of individuals who may have used Monument’s website platforms prior to February 23, 2023.[1] Monument revealed that a pixel used for tracking online information on their website had gathered and sent protected health information to third-party providers of the pixel technology, which includes Meta (Facebook) and Google.
