WHAT HAPPENED?
On April 28, 2023, Whitworth began notifying its current and former students, employees, and affiliates of a data breach that it experienced on or about July 29, 2022.[1] The investigation that followed determined that Whitworth experienced a cybersecurity attack that allowed an unauthorized third-party to access some of Whitworth’s systems and files.[2] Whitworth has advised that the personal information stored on the vulnerable system may have been accessed and stolen by the third-party that committed the data breach.

Whitworth has disclosed the following information was included in the data breach:
- Full names; and
- Social Security numbers.[3]
