An investigation has determined that this outage was caused by an unauthorized third party and that the sensitive personal information of individuals associated with Marshall Melhorn may have been compromised.[1]

WHAT HAPPENED?

Marshall Melhorn confirmed that a network outage in September 2021 was the product of a cyberattack perpetrated by an unauthorized third party. After a significant investigation, Marshall Melhorn determined on March 6, 2023, that this third party may have gained access to, and acquired, the sensitive personal information of Marshall Melhorn employees and clients.[2]

WHAT INFORMATION WAS EXPOSED IN THE DATA BREACH?

The unauthorized third-party that was able to access the following private information:

  • Full names;
  • Social Security numbers;
  • Driver’s license numbers;
  • State Identification numbers;
  • Passport information;
  • Medical information;
  • Health insurance information; and
  • Financial account information.[3]
