WHAT HAPPENED?
BankCard determined on June 1, 2023, that an unauthorized third party was able to access its network and the sensitive personal information stored therein.[1] Upon discovering this data breach, BankCard began investigating the full scope and cause of the incident. That investigation has determined that from May 31, 2023, through June 1, 2023, files containing personal information of BankCard’s customers and employees were improperly accessed and/or acquired.
WHAT INFORMATION WAS EXPOSED?
BankCard has disclosed the breach involves confidential and personal information, including:
- Full names;
- Financial account numbers;
- Credit card numbers; and
- Account security information (Security codes, PINs, passwords, etc.)[2]
