WHAT HAPPENED?
On March 26, 2023, MW Components detected a cyberattack on its computer systems and network, that went on from March 1, 2023 through March 26, 2023.[1] MW Components has disclosed the breach involves the confidential and personal information on its systems, including but not limited to:
- names,
- Social Security numbers,
- driver’s license numbers,
- health insurance information,
- medical information, and
- financial account information.[2]
HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IMPACTED BY THE DATA BREACH?
MW Components did not report the data breach to the authorities and many of the affected parties until August 28, 2023.[3] In total, the data of 18,107 individuals was compromised in the breach.[4]
