WHAT HAPPENED?
Dollar Energy Fund detected a cyberattack on its computer systems and network on February 5, 2023. Through its investigation, Dollar Energy Fund discovered that unauthorized actors had access to its network beginning on January 31, 2023. Dollar Energy Fund has disclosed the breach involves the confidential and personal information on its systems, including but not limited to:
- names, and
- Social Security numbers.[1]
HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IMPACTED BY THE DATA BREACH?
Dollar Energy Fund did not report the data breach to the authorities and many of the affected parties for months following the breach – not until October 2023.[2] In total, the data of 28,539 individuals was compromised in the breach.[3]
