WHAT HAPPENED?
On October 29, 2023, Ace Hardware Corporation detected a cyberattack on its computer systems and network that occurred from October 27, 2023, until October 29, 2023.[1] Ace Hardware Corporation has now disclosed the breach involves the confidential and personal information on its systems, including but not limited to:

· Social Security numbers.[2]

Ace Hardware Corporation did not report the data breach to the authorities and many of the affected parties for months following the breach – not until April 1, 2024.[3] In total, the data of at least 7,295 individuals was compromised in the breach.[4]
