Antitrust Litigation Attorneys For High-Stakes Claims

When a company or group of companies uses its power to limit competition, it can cause financial harm to businesses and consumers. Unfair pricing, limits on trade and monopolies can raise prices, reduce business opportunities and cause other losses. These cases often require a strong legal strategy and the resources to take on powerful companies.

Markovits, Stock & DeMarco, LLC, represents clients in antitrust cases in Ohio and nationwide. With more than 100 years of combined legal experience and a record of high-stakes cases, our attorneys bring the skill and experience these cases require.

Built To Take On Powerful Opponents

Attorney Bill Markovits leads our antitrust practice and brings more than 30 years of experience to the field. He began his career as a trial attorney with the Antitrust Division of the United States Department of Justice. In private practice, he has handled major cases, including the ChoiceCare litigation in the Southern District of Ohio. That case led to a jury verdict of more than $100 million.

Markovits, Stock & DeMarco, LLC, brings that experience to high-stakes cases. We also have strong class action experience and are often chosen to represent classes in Ohio and across the country. When the same conduct harms a large group, our attorneys can build a strategy to take on the companies involved.

Antitrust Litigation Services

Our lawyers review possible antitrust violations, assess claims and develop a plan for each case. Our services include:

  • Investigating possible violations: Reviewing whether business practices may have broken antitrust laws and caused financial harm
  • Seeking injunctive relief: Asking courts to stop conduct that may be causing ongoing harm
  • Prosecuting Sherman Act claims: Handling claims involving illegal limits on trade and monopolies under Sections 1 and 2 of the Sherman Act
  • Handling Clayton Act claims: Addressing business deals, including exclusive dealing and tying arrangements, that may unfairly limit competition
  • Pursuing Robinson-Patman Act claims: Handling certain forms of illegal price discrimination
  • Representing classes: Pursuing antitrust class actions when the same conduct has harmed a larger group
  • Working with economic experts: Studying markets and measuring possible financial harm

Whether a dispute involves price fixing, monopoly or other acts that may limit competition, our attorneys can review the situation and explain available legal options.

Time Limits For Antitrust Claims

Under federal antitrust law, you generally have four years to file a lawsuit. The deadline may depend on the details of the case. State laws may also set different time limits.

If you believe anticompetitive conduct has caused you financial harm, seek a legal review before a possible deadline passes.
